PEN World Voices is America’s premier international literary festival, attracting the best known writers from across the globe. The 2018 PEN World Voices: Resist and Reimagine features Italian writer Domenico Starnone and, among the many international authors, Jhumpa Lahiri, who has chosen to write her most recent works in Italian.

Domenico Starnone is the author of thirteen novels, including Via Gemito, winner of Italy’s most prestigious literary prize, the Strega, and Ties, a New York Times Notable Book of the Year, and a Sunday Times and Kirkus Best Book of the Year.

Jhumpa Lahiri is the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of The Interpreter of Maladies. Her books include The Namesake, Unaccustomed Earth, The Lowland, and In Other Words, an exploration of language and identity. She is the translator of Domenico Starnone’s Ties.
